Actually really enjoyed watching this game using the Oriole's broadcast.

Jim Palmer does commentary, he does know his pitching. Talked glowingly about Clevinger in how he will throw any pitch at any time - unusual for a young pitcher. Keeps him unpredictable. Was fun for me to see Clev from another pair of eyes - and pretty expert ones at that.

They also pointed out that it's the first shutout at any level for Clevinger. Said he had a complete game at Columbus once, but not a shutout.

Great to see Gomes and Yonder connect (that was an absolute bomb). Alonso also made a great pick at 1B on a throw from 3B.

The only black cloud for me in this one was the continued struggle for EE. I know this guy starts out slow EVERY season but on the other hand I wish it would end soon.

I'm thinking challenging Machado with a fastball was a bad idea. 1-0 Birds

Kluber can't complain about the hitting today - they are bailing him on an off day.

Gomes doubles the other way. 7-3

Klubot was mortal today and now owes the offense lunch.

I guess we don't have to worry about Ramirez's bat. While EE waits to warm up could we perhaps try a different DH on occasion? Maybe Guyer?

I might move Kipnis down in the lineup and go Lindor, Ramirez, Brantley.
