From July 26, 1989. This is a photo from the Plain Dealer that shows me cheering wildly as Felix Fermin enters the dugout after scoring on a double by Pete O'Brien in the 8th inning. The Indians rallied to beat the Yankees, 9-7, that night. If we don't win tonight, I will be watching the same teams play on Wednesday. But I hope we can seal the deal tonight!

Few quick hits from Hoynsie ...

1. Manager Terry Francona said outfielder Brandon Guyer (right wrist) and right-hander Adam Plutko (hip) will undergo surgery.

2. Francona said Edwin Encarnacion (right ankle) may be available to pinch hit Monday night.

3. The Indians, if they advance to the ALCS, believe Encarnacion will be available. If they felt otherwise, they would have replaced him on the ALDS roster.

4. In the eighth inning Sunday night, Francona met Michael Brantley behind home plate before replacing him with a pinch-runner. He wanted to see if Brantley felt he could steal second base against lefty Aroldis Chapman, who was coming into the game after Brantley drew a walk against David Robertson.

Brantley, playing on a sore right ankle, said he wasn't sure so Francona replaced him with Greg Allen.

"I didn't want to put himself in a position where he had to score from first on a double and he can't," said Francona.

No predictions. But I will say one thing I’ve learned about this team the last 2 years is that they don’t like losing at all and often show it the next game.
