The Oakland A's have made two trades in the past 24 hours....
Maybe small potatoes, but they are active here on Memorial Day weekend

If the KC lead over Texas holds today....
....and if Seattle can top the Yankees in Seattle today....
Then the last three hired managers of The Cleveland Indians will all be in first place.
(tossing out Joel Skinner's stint as the interim in 2002)

I tell you, this is a special season.
We lose today in Tampa in ugly fashion, but did not lose ground to any of our division foes.
Every team in the division lost today, with Detroit having a chance to drop to 7 out if they lose the nightcap of their doubleheader against Boston.
October baseball in 2011 seems there for the taking in our division. Opportunities like this don't come around often in baseball.
I hope the organization is focused on the short term with regard to the merit of dealing prospects. Even if we keep them there is no assurance they'd get us to October baseball in a future season.
I think we should grab the opportunity this season, with nearly whatever it takes.

TFISC- That's it, amigo!
The AL Central title is absolutely available for the Tribe.
If the club can get through this stretch 10-10, that's okay. In fact, it's good. Tough clubs and missing some key players.
One more prolonged hot streak before the AS break would be very sweet.
Another club is going to have to play at the pace the Tribe did when hot to get back into the race. Certainly not impossible, but it's nice seeing the pack so far behind right now.
BTW- Shapiro has to prove he can make that mid-season deal that strengthens the ML club immediately.

Over each clubs last ten games, the Tribe is the only team at .500 in the AL Central. The competition all had losing records.
So the tough stretch isn't hurting too much.

While you're at it Rocky, you might put out a bit for Jobu.
We need some hits.
