Off to mow and edge the yard.
We'll have a couple of forum members at the game tomorrow.....first pitch less than 14 hours from now.
No brooms needed, but bringing home a win will be deeply appreciated.

Tigers score 2 in the bottom of the 8th to grab the lead vs the Rays.

Last night was the 4th time out of the last 5 games the Tribe has had 6 or less base hits.

One post for today's game should be enough. All the excitement generated by the eagerly awaited return of Mitch Talbot was well justified. He holds the Sox to 7 in the first inning. Enjoy the rest of the day with your favorite book, working in the yard, changing your oil, or at your desk at the office and check back with the Tribe on Friday when Grady should be in the lineup. Too bad Alex White will be gone until roughly Labor Day (if we're lucky)

Frank Herrmann earns a trip back down I-71 with 3 homers in relief, nudging his ERA over 11.
Can't bring up Judy to replace him since he just left. Jeanmar Gomez is most likely and could be long man in the pen. Hagadone is on the 40-man roster so it wouldn't hurt to recall him, but he;s only been at AAA for a week so he's not ready yet. Another possibility is Zach McAllister who's 7-0 for the Clippers and looking better each game. He would most usefully be put in the rotation with Talbot becoming long man (unless he lands back on the DL which is a fairly common place for Mitch to retreat to). That of course if also a possible way to use Gomez.

Well, at least I had a nice time visiting with MCDOC today. But the game was ugly! Talbot and Herrmann were pitching batting practice!

In addition to the free ticket that some stranger handed to me while I stood in line, J.R. helped make the day not a total loss.

I saw the early score was 7-0, but was even more shocked to see the 14-2 final. I haven't looked at the gory details yet.
My first thought with regard to our forum attendees was the old "other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"

Well, at least the atrocious pitching helped 3 of the guys on my fantasy team, including 14 points from Carl Crawford (his best day yet as a Red Sox!) and 10 from Ellsbury,

I hope the team flew to Tampa after the game.
Get down there where it's warm and humid and clean out with some adult beverages with little traveling or use of taxis or limos. Clean out the mind tonight, sleep later tomorrow and have a Thursday afternoon practice..... or no practice until Friday..... in prep for a fresh start in Friday night's game.
At least that's what I'd do after these two losses....especially today's.
