Simon went 15-10 with 3.44 ERA in 32 appearances last season
Porcello won 15 games, with a 3.43 ERA in 32 games

That's a pretty even replacement, except of course Simon did most of his work in the National League

Whew!!!! Dodged a bullet!!! Got thru the Rule 5 draft without other teams scooping up all those hidden gems in the Tribe system.

No one there to lose. All the prospects are too young to be eligible. It was a stretch to find enough players to fill out the 40 man roster. We have lots of candidates to DFA if we decide to sign any free agents.

Just being sarcastic, Civ. What does it say about our system when no other team wants anybody available on the cheap?

I knew you were kidding. But the system seems to be getting much better after the last two or three drafts. We may actually have a struggle in a couple years to protect everyone worth keeping around. I hope.

Do the Indians have anyone in the same class as Porcello?

Would Juan Francisco be more productive than Chisenhall?

Not anyone they would want to give up for a one year rental of another malcontent from Cuba that does not listen to his coaches and that teams can not get rid of quick enough.

Kluber is above his class. Carrasco and Bauer and Salazar all have good chances to succeed at or above Porcello's level, but I too wouldn't deal them for your favorite Cuban OF/DH

Don't believe what you read or hear that comes out of Boston. It seems to me, and not too long ago, that the media was having a field day with quite a few players that had attitude problems including David Ortiz, Josh Beckett, and John Lackey among others.

I don't recall Oakland having any serious problems with Cespedes. The only negatives I know about is that Cespedes was reluctant to be a DH. He wanted to be on the field. Otherwise, he led Oakland to two straight division titles. Oakland wasn't too quick to get rid of him :P

Let's see if Detroit has any concerns.

They just got rid of him as quick as possible. They were never going to pay that whole contract.
