TFIR- Veronica Lake, quite a dish back in her day.

Tribe trails the Cardinals by 1 run for widest margin of runs scored vs runs allowed.

A very encouraging side note is that no other team in the AL Central has outscored their opposition for the season.

CIV- So you are superstitious too! Thanks for tuning off for awhile,

Of course I was wearing my Tribe shirt and Wigwam socks so I knew we would win.

Present management lets the youngsters play and it gives the fans a desired look at the guys we have.

(in an Onslow voice) OH, NICE!

Practically everyone wrote off the "scrubs" we got in the CC trade, and now we are seeing sometimes patience pays off.

Same applies to the Lee trade IMO. And, of course, all trades for prospects.

I'm not so sure everyone wrote off the young guys as scrubs.

Speaking for myself I was disappointed that we didn't get at least one (nearly) major league ready player in each transaction.

I didn't want to wait 2 years or whatever it was, I didn't want to write off several seasons. I wanted to see things flip around sooner plus get prospects. I didn't think that was asking too much for perennial all-stars and Cy Young winners.

Now that we have turned the corner and the young guys are developing into solid mlb players I'm willing to give credit to the management for picking up prospects who turned into good players. That didn't do much for me as a fan the last 2 seasons though.

I think LaPorta was supposed to have developed quicker than he has. When we made the trade, he was the prize, Brantley was the PTBNL and I'll admit, at this time last year I was concerned that Brantley would be a 4th OF due to an inability to drive the ball. Better late than never on LaPorta and Brantley is once again showing that power often develops later than other skills...

Good job guys.

Again a pleasure to read the Game Time posts after only being able to sporadically catch iPhone scores in Reno and across the Sierra with a stop at Donner Lake today.

It's getting way more possible to put our division foes all 10 games out by June 1. We have stretch coming up with three at home against Boston, then 6 on the road at Tampa and Toronto.

We have an off day on Thursday this week, then 26 games in a row without an off day. Next one after May 26 will be June 23. Acta will have a challenge managing the pitching staff.

Winning this series against Boston would be a big boost before the 26 games.

Very well stated, Mt. Fan. And I concur.

Today as a Cleveland Indians Fan is great, as I think we all certainly agree.

However, the work of our brass should still be active. I love the angle of "we're hurting with injuries, but we can win with what we've got."

At some point soon, strategy and planning is in order to try to go for it all in 2011.

Easy to say. No one did!

But management was forced to make tough choices. They had to make the tough choices. They were willing to take the heat!

By their own words they were trying to "shorten the rebuild".

IMO, they ended up doing it.
