Well RR, I've been playing the part of Brantley's pimp since before we acquired him. I'll keep carrying the water for him and eventually you hold outs will come around.

HB- I have liked Brantley a lot. Only thing that bugs me is his teeth gritting before an at bat. But if it works.......

Here's one dude what had not written Hafner off! Now I hope he keeps this up and makes me look like the genius that I am not.

Frank:

With a mere 124 games to go I'm not watching anything other than the Indians' day to day performance and I'm liking it. Tigers are quite close enough, as well as talented enough, to be no less likely than the Indians to finish first as things stand now. (Never hurts to have an ace pitcher to lead the way and Justin Verlander is one of those.) The others in the division will have a challenge to get back into it and the Twins are probably buried too deep already.

Since the Tribe has built up their lead in about 25% of the season, it would be naive to think the other clubs in the Division are out of it.

As Civ said, Tigers are right there. A good week for them and a bad week for the Tribe and it's neck and neck.

Tribe starting pitching still needs to prove itself over the long haul.

I had written Hafner off too. Very pleasant surprise.

Oh, Ye of little faith :)

I always knew Pronk would come raging back. You can't write off a big strong Nodakian farm boy that easily.

Steroids, schmeroids.

I was getting ready to say I absolutely agree with Husker on his opinion of Hawk Harrelson.......

Nice catch by Buck!

Wow.

Again, I was getting ready to say I absolutely agree with Husker on his opinion of Hawk Harrelson as an announcer.

Then he goes and lay minutes of lavish praise on Herb Score and mentions some of the batting quirks of Gaylord Perry.

Steve Stone said that one time he threw Gaylord Perry a sidearm curve ball.

After the at bat Stone said Gaylord walked up to him and said, "if you ever do that again I'm going to hit you in the head."
