Or when you say current maybe you are counting Brantley as CF

Oh heck....I'm loving Brantley's season. It's a tough race but I have him as a team MVP candidate thus far.

So far this season Brantley goes back on a ball hit deep better than Grady. Course Grady may be playing it safer for awhile.

None of the LF candidates currently on the roster are appealing choices.

I'm still a Travis Buck fan and think he has a higher ceiling than his career has seen thus far. Buck in left and Brantley in center is far more attractive defensively than having Kearns in the left field mix with the still coming back Sizemore.

Win tonight and Detroit drops to a full 5 back with their rainout tonight.

HB- I am counting the outfielders minus Grady.

Brantley has made tremendous progress offensively. Remember when hard stuff knocked the bat out of his hands and he had numerous fair balls that were chops, bloops, etc. He has also made significant upgrades in his baserunning.

In the field, he's already better with the glove than anything left in Grady.

Acta not concerned with Perez's velocity

By Robert Falkoff / Special to MLB.com | 05/16/11 9:53 PM ET

KANSAS CITY -- It's the results that count, not the radar gun.

For those wondering if Indians closer Chris Perez has had a drop in velocity, manager Manny Acta merely points to the fact that Perez is 10-of-11 in save opportunities coming into a two-game set with the Royals on Monday.

"I'm pretty happy with that," Acta said. "How hard did [former Indians closer] Doug Jones throw when he saved the games over here? [Perez] is healthy and he's doing a nice job for us. I've seen him throw 94 or 95 [mph] in different games. As long as he gets the saves and he's healthy, I'm fine with it."

Acta added that as the warmer weather approaches, velocity figures around Major League Baseball will be on the rise.

"I don't have any concerns about Chris," Acta said.

Tribe has won the Season Series against The Royals for 7 consecutive seasons, say the KC announcers.

Royals starter at 82 pitches through 4.

I think a loss tonight for KC puts them under .500 for the first time this season.

Almost.

They were 12-13 on April 28th.

On a technicality they lost the first game of the season.
