As for Kayfus, time to turn Santana into a defensive replacement vs righties and DH vs lefties. If you can deal Santana at the deadline to a contender who needs a veteran bat. He can definitely hit lefties, always could. Ditch Fry and let Kayfus play.
Promote CDL and let him play RF. Doesn't really matter who you have to move out for that. They all suck really.
Said this before, in retrospect 2024 was distorted because of a freakish bullpen performance - made larger by overusing everyone out there (how many 70 + appearances guys were there...crazy?) and now they are largely burned out.
Glad the starters are showing promise but this is a retool year at this point. Start developing.

Mark, I agree 100%. At the same time Vogt says he does not like platoons ! At the same time the Guardians have the most lineups with a platoon !
Manzardo can have 3 hits and sit the next game because there is a LH starter ! Very silly, FO and manager both acting like they are attempting to throw the season.

Vogt is giving Jones the opportunity to face left and right hand pitching, it's time to do the same with Manzardo. One of the few power bats the Guards have should not be platooning.

Friend of mine messaged me this - and AMEN!
"I mean, we’ve scored like 10 runs over the past month or something & they just refuse to change anything…"

I understand his message and I am living with his pain and frustration ! Makes no sense ! Other than Kwan, Ramirez and Santana the rest are not good ! FO and Vogt are acting like they are dealing with future all stars.
Wasting Ramirez so here is my plan. Trade or cut Thomas. Kwan is gone at the trade deadline next year so you are moving to CF. DeLauter to LF and Kayfus to RF. Jones becomes utilty OF . Santana gone at trade deadline. Rodriquez back to minors !

Hope everything works out for Kyle but I love this move for Noel. Tells me Rodriquez is headed out in the future.
Noel can play first.

Just a theory. All of these pitchers getting hurt, is it because so much emphasis on top end speed and spin rates? How many of our starters go more than 6?
Or were pitchers of yore, afraid they would lose their meal ticket somebody else?

Noel has a problem with major league pitching.
He's walked 16 times and struck out 98 times in 116 major league games.
2024 13/63;
2025 3/35
This year, he's hitting .140
Career batting average of .189
Total Plate Appearances: 111
Total Games (MLB Career): 116
Total Plate Appearances (MLB Career): 309
Total Home Runs (MLB Career): 15
Total AVG (MLB Career): .189
I like Noel's power potential, but I think he needs more time at AAA.
Could be a big help down the stretch if he shows he can make consistent contact.

Looking at the Naylor trade, I have calculated Runs Scored+RBI+HR for Naylor/Manzardo 2024 and the total is 254 for the year. Doing the same for Santana/Manzardo YTD and the total prorated at 2/3 of the season and projecting out for a full 2025 and the total is 256. That says it is a wash, but the addition of Cecconi and a draft pick it is looking like quite a deal for the Guards!
