That's pretty obvious for sure civ
I can't believe he turned down 3 years at $45 mill total. Right now, that would look like a very bad investment for the Tribe.
Hope he can right the ship, but the brass would be pretty worried about that deal right now.

A guy who made the right deal at the right time was Swisher. He sure isn't worth what he's getting now and will be getting for several more years. He feebly ended an inning with the bases loaded after Indians stole a couple bases, tried lots to get players in scoring position. He did put down a nice bunt earlier and let Murphy leave men on 2nd and 3rd with one out for the second time of the day. Santana and Gomes also have failed to deliver men on base.
Kipnis with 3 hits and Chisenhall batting behind him has walked twice but notihing has resulted.
House went 5 2/3 and put a fair number on base himself, but Red Sox have been just as fruitless at taking advantage of opportunities. Axford enters with one out and a man on third; he walks Napoli; gets a Jonny Gomes force out that brings in the go ahead run. House in line for the loss before he returns to Columbus, since Zach appears ready to return. He might find the offense support better there

Breakthough in the 7th: Briefly former Indian LH Craig Breslow enters. Cabrera singles, Brantley singles him to 3rd. Kipnis who's 3-3 with no one on, ground to 2nd and Pedroia throws home but Pierz error lets the run score. Tied now, 2 on, none out for Chisenhall and the riff raff that follows him.

Lonnie flies out.
Swisher thinks that's a good idea so he does too.

Murphy walks to load the bases for the clutch-hitting C-1B-3B-Dh Carlos Santana.
To this point in the game the team is 0-10 with RISP and has left 9 on base. Carlos can make it all right with a hit. HE's hitting .180 which is probably the high point for the season.

Ball one on a fastball
Foul on a fastball
Ball two on a fastball
Ball three on a fastball
Does Tazawa have a second pitch?
Pumps it up to 95 and walks him. Tribe ahead 3-2

Brantley gave Kluber a one spot... Doesn't want to keep it

Going 5 and 5 on that difficult road trip is quite the feat IMO.

Yep ! Could have been a lot worse. House's game was huge.

Brantley has become quite the professional hitter. If there's a hitter I want to see in a clutch role, it would be Brantley.

Quieting of Santana:
Carlos Santana has a lot of moving parts to his swing, but Francona said they've been "less harsh and a little quieter' since he came off the disabled list which coincides with him hitting better. In his last 13 games, he's hitting .310 (13-for-42) with eight runs, three homers, 12 RBI and 12 walks.
When Manny Acta managed the Indians, he asked Santana to scrap his leg kick to try and quiet his swing. It didn't work and Santana eventually went back to hitting his way.
Francona said he'd be reluctant to ask Santana to make a big change in his swing.
"Guys hit like they hit," said Francona. "Carlos has had some pretty good years hitting like he hits."

WoW! What a year Chisenhall is having!!
Could any one in Cleveland feel the draft from that last out Santana just made in the inning? I felt it here. I thought it was the air conditioner.
Santana has to go back to the basics of hitting. He's trying to kill every ball he swings at instead of just trying to make contact and putting the ball in play. I also think that the toe tapping non-sense has to stop! I also think the high leg kick has to stop. I'd like to see less animation and more Cabrera/Brantley/Chisenhall type hitting. The less animation the better in my opinion. Killing every ball Santana swings at has to stop or bench his ass. There was no need to swing as hard as hie did on that last out.

Brantley has been an offensive force beyond my wildest dreams. I could have imagined him as a 280 hitter with a dozen homers; perhaps hitting 300; but never with the power he has developed; defensively he was often projected as so poor an outfielder that he would have to become a light-hitting 1st baseman. He's far outshone his projections. We win the Sabathia trade after all! And have him signed to a bargain contract!

Nice opposite field shot by Cabrera. He is really finding his stroke again.
