I don't care how many pictures Giambi has on Tito, it's time to go!!!!!!
Giambi got a paycheck last season and served as the head cheerleader. He did have a few clutch hits.
This year, he's another year older and is completely washed up. Leave the cheerleading to the other gladhander, Swisher.
Put him on the DL the rest of the year if they want to continue to pay him.
Get him off the roster......NOW!
Re: GameTime!™
13727Didn't see the at bat.....didn't know there was a day game today. Gotta ask though. Did Santana try to dump the ball into Lake Erie again? Batting fifth again !?!?! Gotta say that Francona has more faith in Santana than I do.Make that two outs, as Santana Ks..

Re: GameTime!™
13728It's a roughly .500 team which will be hot for awhile, cold for awhile. Will continue to frustrate and to surprise.I don't understand this team!!
We sure don't understand how Chisenhall turned into the offensive scourge of the American League. Two more hits yesterday. Too more today. Closing in on .400. Almost sure to be the league leader when he reaches the qualifying number of ABs

13729Make him pee in a cup

13730Hottest hitter in baseball gets the night off so both Santana and Swisher can be in the lineup.
Re: GameTime!™
13731As I predicted, Giambi is "hurt" again, just as Swisher comes back.
BOSTON -- The Indians stuck to their plan and activated first baseman Nick Swisher from the disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the Red Sox. How Cleveland went about adding Swisher to the roster came as a slight surprise.
In order to activated Swisher, the Indians placed 43-year-old veteran Jason Giambi on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his left knee. This marks the third trip to the DL this season for Giambi, who has twice been shelved when the Tribe was in a roster crunch.
By placing Giambi on the DL, Cleveland can keep third-string catcher George Kottaras on the roster, allowing corner infielder Carlos Santana (recently back from a mild concussion) to avoid catching for the time being. In early May, Giambi was sidelined with a right calf strain while Cleveland was navigating through an assortment of injury and roster issues, too.
Giambi opened the season on the disabled list after fracturing a rib in his right side during Spring Training.
During Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Royals, Giambi went 0-for-4 to drop his season average to .128 (6-for-47). In 15 games for Cleveland this year, Giambi has launched two home runs and collected five RBIs.
Swisher, 33, was placed on the 15-day DL on May 27 after hyperextending his knee in a game against the White Sox one day earlier. In a two-game Minor League rehab assignment with Double-A Akron on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first baseman went 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs. In 49 games for the Tribe this year, Swisher has hit just .211 with three homers and 19 RBIs, but he did hit .318 in the six games prior to landed on the DL.

13732I don't understand that move. Chiz has shown he can hit lefties.civ ollilavad wrote:Hottest hitter in baseball gets the night off so both Santana and Swisher can be in the lineup.
Re: GameTime!™
13733And Aviles, hitting 136 in June, all singles, is at third. He ends the 3rd with a dp. Cabrera error leads to RedSox run and Boston is up 1-0 after 4.
Re: GameTime!™
13734Santana, Raburn and Swisher to hit in the 5th. Averaging respectively: 177, 208 and 210.
At least Santana can get on base some and he leads off with a walk.
Raburn with a 527 OPS, 423 in June, pops up.
Swisher works the count full. And flies out.
At least Giambi is off the active roster.

13735Lets get through the bottom of this inning quick.....Tomlin hasn't had an easy inning at all tonight.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Re: GameTime!™
13736I got home just in time to see an 8 year old hit a long drive to left and stretch the BoSox lead to 3.
Is it just me or does Holt, and most of the Red Sox team, look like a high school lineup. They're tiny. I've seen Curling teams that are bigger. Female ones.
Ladies and gentleman, the starting lineup of your Boston Red Sox.

13737For those that watched the game ... This girl plays better D than about any of our infielders.
Re: GameTime!™
13739Another streaky season apparently. Seems that is happening all around the league however.
