That's right, I should have remembered that. In the days before the wrestling injury for him.

FORT MYERS - A lot of people get peeved about TSA pat downs. But a Bonita Springs woman is accused of groping an agent at Southwest Florida International Airport.

It happened on her way to Cleveland, Ohio. Airline passenger Carol Price says while going through security to catch her flight, a TSA agent groped her.

In response, the video shows Price put down her carry-on bags, turn to a TSA supervisor and grab her to show the supervisor what Price says she went through.

Banker sentenced to 15 months

By: Gulf Coast Business Review

June 15, 2012

SARASOTA — Onetime local banker Edward M. Bangasser was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for his role in a Sarasota-area mortgage fraud case.

A loan officer for Washington Mutual Bank from 2004-2006, Bangasser pleaded guilty in December to wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud banks. Prosecutors contended Bangasser assisted “borrowers, along with other conspirators working in conjunction with the borrowers, in submitting false loan documents to WAMU to secure mortgages on residential homes.”

Bangasser, 66, was part of a real estate fraud case that includes defendants Craig Adams and Richard Bobka, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Middle District of Florida. Adams and Bobka previously pleaded guilty in the case, and are awaiting sentencing. In total, 19 defendants have been convicted or accepted guilty pleas in the case.

U.S. District Judge Virginia Hernandez Covington sentenced Bangasser. In addition to the 15 months in prison, Bangasser must serve six months of home detention following his release. He was also ordered to pay $450,000 in restitution.

This "not guilty" verdict for Roger Clemens, coupled with the mostly gone counts against Barry Bonds are good fodder for a revisit addition to Baseball for filmmaker Ken Burns.

"We knew, but we didn't care" could be a working title.

Clemens is another example of people with celebrity and money can get away with anything.

I didn't follow the trial details closely but catch snippets that indicated there was a pretty bright jury, and enough to know that the primary accuser had some credibility issues.

I'm going to guess the jury gave strict interpretation to "beyond a reasonable doubt."

Very sad commentary on today's kids. This is not TFIR's district, but it is close to there.

Texas fisherman prevails in epic battle with enormous alligator gar

By: Pete Thomas, GrindTV.com

Whether Brent Crawford has captured the world's largest alligator gar will never be known -- his scale bottomed out emphatically at 300 pounds and he filleted the prehistoric-looking fish after attempting to obtain its weight.

But this much is clear: The gar Crawford landed while bow-fishing recently in Texas' Lake Corpus Christi is among the largest specimens ever captured -- and it was captured in a manner like no other gar captured beforehand.

(The largest-known alligator gar caught while bow-fishing weighed 365 pounds. The largest caught on rod and reel weighed 279 pounds.)

Crawford, who has lived on the lake for 20 years, was alerted to the presence of several giant gar in a wide canal feeding into the lake: an enormous female swimming with about five smaller males.

His reaction, according to the Corpus Christi Caller Times, was simply: "Oh goodness. That fish right there was worth chasing."

The newspaper's outdoors columnist, David Sikes, produced a detailed account of what transpired next. The following is a condensed version:

Crawford, with his fishing bow, stalked the great fish carefully, knowing he might only get one shot.

When he finally fired, he scored a direct hit, unleashing the fury of the 8-foot, 2-inch beast, which created an explosion of mud and water before it ran toward the lake.

Big problem, because the nylon cord had become tangled at Crawford's feet, and when he grabbed the line, as it began to tighten, it became wrapped around his hand.

The line went taut and the fish yanked the fisherman into the water headfirst. That's when Crawford's dog, Bleux, grabbed him by the cuff of the jeans, creating a bizarre riverbank tug-of-war.

Crawford ultimately was able to free his hand from the cord and stand knee-deep in the shallow canal, gripping his fishing bow, the cord still attached to the mighty fish. "There was no doubt who was in control and it wasn't me," the fisherman recalled.

The gar stole 200 feet of cord in a battle that lasted 45 minutes, before Crawford reeled it to the bank. Soaked and exhausted, the fisherman straddled the fish, reached for his cellphone -- which he had kept in a waterproof case -- and dialed a friend.

The friend arrived with a pistol, which resoundingly ended the struggle, and the two men used a rope and an ATV to drag the quarry to Crawford's house.

It wasn't until after Crawford had carved up his catch that he learned the Texas bow-fishing record for alligator gar is 290 pounds, and the overall state record is 302 pounds.

Record or no record, it was a monstrous gar and one of the wildest angling feats in Texas history. It's a shame that there isn't a category for that.

The two guys Craig Ferguson is picking on at the show opening tonight are both wearing The Ohio State University sport shirts. One works for the IRS, and his son is a firefighter.

Craig inquires if anyone ever asks about their shirts. The Dad replies, "only Ohio State Fans...and oh, Michigan Fans."

It wasn't one of Craig's best openings, but I continue to believe he has the tightest and most talented late night shows going. Ferguson improvs most of the show each night, and it is always watchable.

I think I lived in California too long. Heck, I know I did.

I've gotta say, aside from molesting double digit kids, the guy also showed extremely poor judgment in wearing a suede sport coat after the official first day of summer....
