Pillar homer makes it 7-1, Jays!

Doesn't the Twins stadium have a roof they can close? I must be wrong.
Was this a noon game so they could play a football game there tonight? That could turn out to be a challenge! Of course, I could well be wrong, again.

CIV:
Target Field opened a few years ago, and is open-air, no retractable roof. Baseball only.
They used to play in the Metrodome, which of course was covered.

Thanks J.R. I have seen the stadium in beautiful downtown MSP, right on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi but never went inside. My favorite big city in America; of course I've never been there in the dead of winter, but the other few months it's beautiful, and everyone is outside enjoying the weather.

Let's hope Kazmir doesn't get stuck in the men's room, or we'll have another two hour delay.

2 innings no score. 4 K by each starter. Only hit is a Twins 2 out single. Twins starter came in with an 1130 ERA. Down to 9.75 now.

9 up 9 down for the Tribe. 5 K, two ground outs to first, 2 popups.

About as anemic a start as you could imagine.

in his first 3 2013 outings, the 28 year old career minor leaguer, Cole DeVries, had worked 10 innings, allowed 13 runs, 16 runs, 8 walks and 5 homers and had registered 5 strikeouts. He seems to be sharper today, or the Indians hitters are tired out from last night game and a boring 3 hour rain delay.

in AAA this season DeVries had a 7.02 ERA.

Best career start for DeVries was 6 shutout innings vs. Cleveland 9-8-12, 3 hits, fanned 2.

Twins with a walk and a singled in the 3rd but two outs leave them stranded.

2nd time through the lineup for the Tribe vs. Twins ace.

Two more quick strikeouts to start the 4th, that makes 7 for DeVries, his career high, but then Tribe gets to work:

Kipnis singles and

Santana launches his 20th. Some one cue the Home Run graphic!

Santana with an OPS of 837, tops on the team. That's more impressive for a catcher than a DH or 1b, but he's a good offensive player and should just stay in the cleanup spot. What's our record with him at No. 4 in the order?
