Why did the Indians have a winning record and a 600 pct before they went out west?
A current ranking of the 30 teams by Baseball Prospects list:

No. 30 Minnesota
No. 28 Detroit
No. 20 Kansas City
That was 3/4 of our schedule except for 4 games, 3 losses, vs NYY.
Our lousy team beats their even lousier teams. But unfortunately we'll be a lot more real major league competition for the next couple months
While continuing Tito's hands behind his back with garbage hitters throughout the lineup.

1/4 of the season done already. It does not seem like that long ago since they got underway. I think I'd prefer this team with a 60 game season like last year's. 120 more games from these guys will be pretty deadly unless several of them significantly improve. [Eddie? you can light the fire and then Josh and Jordan and Andres can catch fire ... ]

Indians are overrated at No. 12 due solely to the 3.56 ERA, 8th best in the majors, and a note that the "offense has been inconsistent at best" is rather an understatement. As is the closing statement: "Someone besides Jose Ramirez and Franmil Reyes needs to emerge as a consistent contributor"

Forgot Cesar in the previous post. He could be valuable at the top of the order, as he was last year.
Miller hitting second would be nice boost
Then Jose and Franmil try to bring them in and the rest of the lineup continues its snooze.

Must be a money/service time reason Miller is not up.

Waiting for Chang to break out any moment now. That's why they use him once a week to pinch strike out.

seagull - it is absolutely not that at this point in May. Even Kellenic, who Seattle publicly said they were holding back for that reason, is now up.

That's why I am pretty frustrated - there is no good reason at this point.

Probably coming up today; yesterday they sent Giminez down to Columbus and "for precautionary reasons" added Jean Carlos Mejia to the bullpen while waiting to figure if Luplow needs to go on the IL. The followup suggested he won't be out that long, so now that make the real move to add a replacement in the infield for Giminez rather than an OF to replace Luplow. Or something like that. Anyway the door is now open for Miller.

Although Chang's solid start yesterday might earn him the major backup role at short; he actually batted in a run on a ground out while striking out only once and setting his batting line at 127/ with an OPS of 333.

Did you guys see Haase caught the no hitter for Detroit last night?

That's right; he was in left field the night before. Another Indians minor leaguer made good. Pretty good.

JP Feyeriesen is doing well in someone's bullpen I noticed. And somehow 31 year old Louis Head who was terrible for the Columbus has a big league job now too.

Well Haase will always have catching an MLB no hitter to remember.

And he'll have his major league minimum salary for some portion of at least a couple years to support him

So what's wrong with Eddie R? Hit great at our stadium when he was on the Twins. Now that this is his home team he's awful in Cleveland:
152/178/197.

His history shows uneven performance by month most years. Let's hope 2016 repeats itself for him
April 200 577 ops
May 200 445 ops
June 316 864 ops
July 311 796 ops
Aug 268 757 ops

2017 he stunk in April and was over 800 OPS each following month'
2018 he stunk in April starred in May and June and pretty bad the rest of the year
2019 he peaked in April and gradually dropped back every month the rest of the way; let's hope he doesn't follow that path this year!

311 no hitters since 1876
269 since 1900
by decade from 1900-2010: 19; 30; 9; 8; 13; 18; 34 in the 60s; 31 in the 70s; 13 in the 80s; 31 in the 00s; 15 in the 00's; 8 in the 10's consisting of just over 100 games per team.

Most in a season appears to be 7 in 1990 2012 2015
6 in 1908 1915 1917 [with only 16 teams playing 154 games] not again until 1969, and 2010 and over 1/3 of the 2021 season
