Top average and OPS on AAA Columbus belongs to 26 year old IF Daniel Schneemann, a 33rd round draft pick from 2018 who never did anything of note before this year.
He is hitting 329 13 doubles 8 homers 36 walks OBP 429 SLG 517.
If David Fry can make a place in the majors no reason why Schneemann can't

Valera is going to be suspended for shoving an umpire and punching the catcher. Might be exactly what the Guardians need in the future.

Guardians top prospect ejected for fighting in minor league game

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Guardians top prospect George Valera was ejected from Thursday’s Triple-A game between the Columbus Clippers and Nashville Sounds after inciting a benches-clearing brawl.
Video posted to Twitter shows Valera arguing with Sounds catcher Alex Jackson before home plate umpire Tanner Moore steps between the two. Valera can be seen sticking a finger in Jackson’s mask as Moore moves to separate the two. The camera angle changes as Valera appears to shove Moore to the side in order to get at Jackson.
Both dugouts empty onto the field in a video posted from another angle as Valera is led away from the scrum by teammate Jhonkensy Noel. Valera and Jackson were both ejected from the game.
Valera, ranked Cleveland’s No. 2 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, began the season on the injured list after aggravating his surgically-repaired right hand during an at-bat in spring training. In 26 games since joining the Clippers from the injured list, he has hit .211 with a home run and 11 RBI with 26 strikeouts and 19 walks in 95 at-bats.

It was great to see that Valera was removed not for once again injuring his hand on a bad swing. I expect very little from this best power hitter prospect.
He was hitting 187 with no homers, 3 doubles in 75 AAA at bats. He walks a lot. His OBP is 319 and SLG 227 OPS 546. Age 23.5.
Meanwhile Jhonkennsy Noel yesterrday drove in 3 with 2 singles and a sac fly. His average climbs over 200, now 206, his OS 693. Rather doubtful he'll be a big league hitter but does feature 14 homers, 52 rbi and he's just finally about to turn 22.

our only Futures Game participant did well:
Cantillo heats up
Known mostly for his changeup, Guardians left-hander Joey Cantillo has shown improved fastball velocity the last couple of seasons and pumped it up even higher in the Futures Game. He worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings because Royals right-hander Will Klein couldn't escape a jam in the second, and he operated with a 94-98 mph fastball. He struck out two of the best prospects in the game, Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong on a 98 mph heater and D-backs shortstop Jordan Lawlar on an 82 mph change

Sunday games
Logan Allen 3 6 5 5 2 2
Hunter Gaddis 3 2 2 2 0 2
Peyton Battenfiled 4 2/3 3 1 1 0 2
Tommy Mace 4 0 0 0 2 4 5.66 in AA
Parker Messick 5 7 5 2 0 3 9.42 in High A
J. Noel HR#15; single; 3 rbi 207 698 OPS
in AA: Bracho 2 singles 223/734, something for a comeback for past high prospect; Petey Halpin HR 4 single 253/685; Tena double 234 659; Briton 2 walks 289/808
High A: Chase DeLauter debut is one worth having waited for 4 for 4 today with 3 doubles; That gives him 7 doubles, along with 1 homers, in only 32 at bats; also stole his 1st His line: 469/469/781 Tiny sample but a great start.
Note of extreme caution: some things about DeLauter remind one of Zimmer; Brad's High A debut season was great too: 308/403/493; added 32 steals; look where that got him

anyone have an update on Zack Plesac? Would still like to see him get a shot as an outfielder.

Sometimes I can't tell if that was serious or way less than serious. Right now, way less than serious.

All I know is that in 32 1/3 innings with the Clippers Zach has allowed 12 homers and has an ERA a bit above 7
Nothing on the Columbus webpage to indicate if he has been shagging flies and taking batting practice

top games from Sunday include
Chase DeLauter, OF, Guardians: A year ago at this time, DeLauter was hearing his name called with the 16th overall pick in the draft. Unfortunately, until very recently, that was the high point of his career. A pair of foot injuries kept him on the injured list both last season and then again this year before he got into rehab games in June. He moved up to High-A Lake County recently and has quickly made up for lost time. The lefthanded slugger went 7-for-10 over the weekend including four doubles. Overall, eight of his first 15 hits have gone for extra bases.

Actually really serious about that. I recall that Plesac was anxious to bat, and had at one time been an outfielder. I think his worth as a pitcher is over.

If Anthony Gose could switch from OF to RHP, perhaps Plesac can make the reverse journey. Or perhaps not

Crap shoot for sure, but we are paying him aren't we?
