Really have to question why Joe Smith was left in against a left handed hitter.

I guess they are entitled to an off day every once in awhile. As long as it doesn't become a habit. Still sucks though...

BTW, nothing against Everett, he's done a good job this year and needs to place every once in awhile but with as well as Hannahan has been playing both in the field and at the plate, why wasn't he starting today?

Yeah I know, hindsight is 20/20...

If this team really wants to me to look silly and win this thing they need to upgrade the bottom of the roster. Everett stinks and because kearns play so shallow because he has no arm that ball which should have been an out was a double. This upgrade could easily be done from within as there are replacements for these 2 on the Columbus roster.

Come on now. The first part was already accomplished.

I agree they should have removed Smith.

That said, I am VERY disappointed for Smith. He got the groundballs he needed and only 2 VER
Y lucky bounces got him in trouble.

He should have been out of the inning - twice! He definitely did his job, got the grounders. And they didn't even leave the infield.

11 infield LA hits for the series. Unbelievable!

The weird hits aside, that was the first game I can remember this year that we played sloppy. Everett's error, and Choo's misjudging a ball. We are coming in to play a pretty strong Tampa Bay team with the same record as us over the past 10 games (7-3) and has a strong road record (11-4).

We passed the Left Coast test against some great pitching, we need to bounce back from those sloppy plays and take this TB series (sorry TampaSteve)

Unless Tampa Bay shows the game locally, I will be blacked out of this series.
