Richard Dawson was great as a Game Show Host, and was even better as an actor on Hogan's Heroes.......a great program.

Dawson was likely among my fave's of Hogan Heroes, and fortunately avoided visiting Bob Crane in Scottsdale over the years prior.

So a guy who lived in San Francisco doesnt like cool weather.

It will soon be hot enough here that you will worship A.C

Nice, but I'll note I've pushed an almost equivalent shot or two with a putter. I'm not a regular golfer but have golfed enough to know my wedge and 9 iron are among the worst clubs in my personal bag.


I have supreme confidence in my skills with the putter. Poor choice for a seasoned golfer there, but if I was playing for money with others of my golfing ilk I might have gone for it.

Bottom line is that I like going for clubs I know I can best control when playing for dough.

Amazing. You should join the senior tour (I think it's called the Champions Tour now.) It's obvious that Tiger knows nothing about club selection...

My ideal temp has always been 78 to 80 degrees indoors, and I've been able to take 95 degrees outdoors, lifelong, with no problem. My complaint with our former part of The Bay Area was that we had NO humidity, and temps in the 90's made skin feel like it was being radiated, or something. And then in the early evening, my backyard would require a sweatshirt as the Bay winds kicked in. Rarely ever a happy combination in temps there, though I will offer that The City of San Francisco can be pretty comfortable for walking when it's near 60 degrees with normal humidity as it frequently is.

We're in your backyard Loufla, so we're open to your suggestions or choices. We had a good time at Miller's Ale House off of Airport-Pulling Road several days ago with our daughter's group and assorted parents. Kelly's Fish House in Naples is a place we have not yet tried, but have on our list for the future. South Street had a nice atmosphere...though cold indoors.....but my biggest complaint of that night was that the live musician had a sound system that made me think we were listening to a broadcast of two cats having sex as he "sang."

We can play high society, and we can go deeply blue collar with great enjoyment. Sunday night we had a great time visiting The Junkanoo by the RV campground on Fort Myers Beach, and then walked the beach to the rooftop of the Lani Kai for bad karaoke. It was good food, a good time at sunset, and about a two mile beach walk as the sun went down and the stars and moon came up.

For my first few weeks of this 3rd time in my life living in Florida, I have been most comfortable in sandals, shorts and loose fitting button down colorful shirts. I've found dry cleaning/laundering costs here to be surprisingly outrageous, with the median long sleeved shirt prices I've researched a full 184% above what I paid in California. I have a summer suit being cleaned and prepped for $17 when I had the same suit cleaned for $8.50 in California.

For now, I'm leaning to finding places I can wear shorts and sandals.

My intent was not clear. Tiger made a great shot and my lame arse would have pulled a putter out of the bag at that point because I have zero confidence in my wedges in duffer golfing.

In my recreational golfing days I went to the range and tried over and over again to learn to hit the pitching wedge and/or 9 iron.

I was usually too hard, with not enough lift.

TFISC/Cali- Funny about the drycleaning- when we moved here after College teaching for many years I saved a bundle on dry cleaning. After jackets and ties in front of college students in caftans, headdresses and turbans, I got here and had NO dry cleaning bills as shorts, t-shirts and no press shirts with sandals became my uniform. Working out of my house at the computer all day meant underwear was often my daily garb except for dips in the ocean after a particularly good trade.

Millers Ale House sounds fine, we have often been there with my cousins as they like the Lobster Special. While not to my taste there are plenty of dishes to choose from. How about 530 or 6 as a meeting time. My commodity markets dont close until 430( as I like gambling also) and I need a little time to meditate with some new age music to wind down in case the day has been particularly awful.

I will wear an Indians t-shirt and will be the old guy with a beard. Think Burl Ives on steroids or Luciano Pavarotti without the black dye in the beard.

We are both looking forward to meeting you and yours on Wednesday and to toast your arrival and the Tribe.

CALI: Thanks for the clarification. It's been said that we are all full of BS here, but the way I read your post, I needed hip-waders!

For those of you nearby Cleveland, next week 11-17 Jun, is Marine Week Cleveland. I was at St Louis for the last day. It was one of those omg moments. Right now I have penciled in going at least next Tuesday. More if possible. Semper Fi.

Millers Ale House, it is. My wife leaves campus after 5'ish, so we'll likely be closer to a 6:15 to 6:30 arrival couple after she meanders home. I'll be arriving in a Carolina Gamecock garnet and black Toyota pickup truck.

I've enjoyed the Bahamian Dolphin at the Ale House in Gainesville during our daughter's college years. It's a few bucks more here, than there, of course.

Speaking of Pavarotti, I was listening to WAVV the other day and heard a rendition of "My Way" with Sinatra and Pavarotti I had never heard before, and it was nice. As to Burl Ives, I've always made my wife laugh with occasional reminders "that Bumbles bounce."

This time my daughter is already booked, but next time we'll bring her and her boyfriend along. It's fun but a bit of an adjustment to realize my wife and I can go out with our soon to be 23 year old kid at Happy Hour.

Whether you have a good day in the market tomorrow or not.....and I hope you do, of course.....drinks are on us tomorrow. I am working on a good to be determined angle for The Belmont on Saturday, and am hoping for a good score....

Baron should later this year be in a position to enjoy such festivities as his uniform will be retired, if plans go accordingly.

I've never served in our Armed Forces, but would have, if drafted and The ROTC possible thing worked it that way.

Yep. That said, I was sorry when Bob Crane died. I really, really enjoyed Hogan's Heroes , and Colonel Hogan. When I lived in Miami years ago, the syndicated show came on just after the syndicated Rockford Files which I loved. Both were on just before the daily horse racing recap show from Gulfstream, Calder or Hialeah that I really really loved.

I will be happy if "I'll Have Another" captures the elusive "Triple Crown" of my beloved Thoroughbred Horse Racing.

My horse racing observational instinct is that he has about a 50% chance of catching the ring.

I do not like his owner or trainer, and his breeding and conformation are both in doubt for 12 furlongs.


I will not be betting against him.

For the record, I'll have Street Life and Union Rags with the field in trifectas, and hoping for good luck and a bomb in the top three.


If I lose, as likely I will, it will be a fun day.

I'll blow all the rest of my normally wagering wad on dinner and drinks, and a good time.
