Ubaldo pitching with about 3 extra days rest. Gets 3 outs with only 12 pitches in the first. Swisher draws a one out walk.

Nick's OPS of 731 is better than 4 worse than 4 of his fellow starters. The top two are in theory bench players: Raburn's 925 and Gomes' 871. Kipnis follows at 860, Santana 810.
The bottom half are Cabrera 700, Bourne 689, Stubbs 679 and Aviles 672.

C.J. Wilson up to 21 pitches after walking Kipnis, too. Cleanup hitter with 9 homeruns and 700 OPS can get the Tribe off to an early lead.

Another start for Cabrera: OPS with RISP is 514. So no surprise he flies out, Swisher moves to 3rd. Two out for relief pitcher Ryan Raburn.

who strikes out on 3 pitches.

Gomes double and Aviles single and Stubbs IF hit score a run. Then Bourne leaves them in place, Swisher walks again and Kipnis leaves them loaded. Wilson has thrown 57 pitches to 12 hitters and the Tribe holds a massive 1-0 lead after 2.

26-pitch third by Jiminez yields only 1 run. Tied 1-1 for the Tribe heart of the order.

Where is everyone?

This is a Shapsonetti driven pennant race, right? Lots of fans in the seats on a Saturday early August night?

Mark Shapiro is Rusty's "Golden Boy."

No one here. No one in the stands.

Shaps sucks, and we are in a teeter totter mode of staying adrift or dropping further behind as we trail at present this evening.

I guess all are fearful that Kansas City could mathematically humiliate us into 3rd place this evening.

Just to close, Dolan is dumber than either Shaps or MarieAntoinetti.

(what's with the Cleveland Writer tidbits of noting "Cabs," "Swish," and today, "G Man?" Giambi, that is, for those who have never juiced. Personally, I'd hoist the moniker of "J Man" for Giambi.

and just like that down 4-0.

so much for Masterson stoping the landslide

Wouldn't hurt if they scored some runs. Someone named Jerome Williams with an ERA of 4.61 has held Tribe to 1 hit in 4 innings.

Masterson departs in the 5th over 100 pitches and we'll keep working the bullpen to death.

Cabrera, who really does contribute nearly nothing offensively with his 240 avg and 690 OPS departs after 1 at bat. Ejected. A little frustrated at his own futility perhaps? Although his first half numbers were nothing to cheer, he has again managed to collapse post all-star game:
195/220/333/533.
Are those trade rumors re-ignitable?

So the tribe has spit the bit again. Maybe now we can stop hearing about the attendance. On to the football season. Typical Cleveland baseball season.
