Is there a worse team in baseball right now than the Chicago White Sox?
Looks like they may be heading in the direction of a first round pick in the June draft. Carlos Rondon is a stud. He's a southpaw. Sale, Rondon, and 3 days of rain.

The Tribe Wins, to salvage I guess an arguably "respectable" two win and four loss road trip while losing the first two series of the second half of the 2013 season.
Nolan Ryan's Texas Rangers are coming to town to kick Cleveland butt and take initials.
They have no time to take full names, as their leaders are "Winners" proceeding to the post season.
With a nod to Charlie T, it always pissed him off when someone used the word "arguably" in a position stance or post.
Charlie T doesn't post here anymore, nor do most who have been frustrated and tired of the Shapiro regime and have disappeared, sometimes gracefullly as did John Coltrane

Spend a week outscoring the opposition by an average of 2 runs per game and come out 2 games under .500 for your efforts ... ooooooops.
I don't think Seattle was conceding the tying run on that play, but certainly committing for a dash home would have been better than the hesitation. Seattle got the perfect ground ball to help them defend against the tying run scoring and they didn't blow it.

Chisox are beating up on Verlander and the Tigers today, so we should pick up half a game.

And we could (or should?) have even more:
Nick Swisher Strike (looking), Ball, M Bourn caught stealing second, catcher to shortstop, Strike (swinging), Foul, Ball, Strike (swinging), N Swisher struck out swinging
Jason Kipnis Ball, Strike (swinging), Ball, J Kipnis safe at second on throwing error by shortstop E Andrus
Asdrubal Cabrera Strike (looking), Ball, Ball, J Kipnis to third on wild pitch by R Wolf, A Cabrera flied out to center

If Joe Smith continues to pitch in crucial situations (8th inning) this team is doomed. Smith has no confidence at all in tough spots.

18 hits for the Tribe, 14 for the rangers. The only player not to have a hit was the TX 1B, Moreland.

IMO the #1 need right now on this team is for a lock down 8th inning setup guy.
Obviously they have other areas that can be upgraded as well, but this would be my #1.

Justin Masterson outduels Rangers' Yu Darvish in Indians' win
Associated Press
CLEVELAND -- Michael Bourn homered to lead off the first inning and Justin Masterson took a shutout into the eighth inning, outdueling Texas' Yu Darvish in the Cleveland Indians' 1-0 win over the Rangers on Saturday night.
Masterson (12-7), an American League All-Star, struck out eight and allowed five hits in 7 2/3 innings. That was enough to beat Darvish (9-5), who struck out 11 and held the Indians to three hits in six innings.
Darvish's only mistake came on his second pitch of the game when Bourn hit a line drive that barely cleared the wall in right field.
Chris Perez pitched the ninth for his 14th save. Masterson retired the first two hitters in the eighth but was pulled after Nelson Cruz's two-out single. Joe Smith retired Adrian Beltre on a line drive to left that was caught on the warning track.
