Hosmer kills low ball pitching which is what Smith throws, Hagadone or Hill might have been a better choice......Oh well, it doesn't matter now!

Lots of fine relief pitching.

Shaw was very impressive in April, getting progressively worse.

Today he walked one, hit a batter and left.

Hill didn't really have anything to do with it today; he came in after Shaw, Santana let another ball get past him, Hill intentionally walked the hitter, and exited.

Albers, opposite of Shaw who came in the same deal, was pretty lousy early in the season but much better lately.

Until today. He quickly cleared the bases with a three run double. And then got three outs to keep the Tribe within only 3, 10=7 heading to the 9th.

Only 6 hits for the Royals today, so we must have done something right.

But not nearly enough, since those 6 hits produced 10 games.
did help that 3 of them were homers producing 7 runs and one a double producing 3.

The 2 other hits were singles Jiminez scattered in the first 5 innings. Which means that the Royals scored 10 runs on 4 hits in the final 3 innings vs. 6 equally ineffective pitches.

VERY tough loss today!

We lose a series we should have won. It was nice having some company in this folder during the game. Thanks, TFIR and CIV.

Walks killed us.

I am always uncomfortable when Jiminez pitches, even when he seems strong. He always seems to tax the bullpen somehow.

Agreed on Ubaldo.

Should have an automatic hook after 5. IF he gets that far.

Worst game of the year, unless i'm forgetting something early on.
