Drew Stubbs homer makes it 3-0 in the 2nd.

Ubaldo has been surprisingly efficient and maybe can make it through 7 innings today?? 80 pitches in 5 shutout innings. Only 2 hits plus his normal 3 walks. He has two streaks of 5 outs in a row. Tribe up 3-0 vs James Shields.

I love the addition of Stubbs to this team.

Obviously, he has holes in his hitting. But that bunt hit the other night ignited the team.

His fielding (multiple outfield positions) is fantastic, and his speed is phenomenal. Quite a useful guy.

Looks like 6 outta him (Ubaldo) today, if that. Still, 5 effective innings in this game.

Either we don't re-sign this guy when his contract is up, or he had better take a discount.

I think you jinxed Ubaldo, CIV. He's gone back to walking people, and they have they bases loaded and nobody out.

And now Ubaldo starts doing his special thing:

walks the first two hitters in the bottom of the 6th. then his own error loads the bases with none out.

And all of a sudden he's up to 100 pages. He'd be a perfectly adequate starter if games were only 7 innings long and a "quality start" meant working 5 innings. As it is the guy is a perpetual drain on the bullpen even on his good days.
