I was just going to check back to see if Edwards was still on the roster; obviously the answer is no.
from Articles:
"To clear space on the 40-man roster for Sunday’s promotions, right-hander Jon Edwards was designated for assignment, while right-hander A.J. Cole, left-hander Tyler Olson and Naquin were moved to the 60-day disabled list."
Re: General Discussion
11222in a crushing blow to the team, Danny Salazar has asked for "some time away" and has gone home to Tampa. Certainly can understand that after pitching 5 innings in the majors over the past 2 seasons he could use some time to settle back and relax on his own while his one=time teammates battle down the stretch for a playoff spot. I think he has earned no less than that while earning $9.5 million and working like the devil to get back in shape.
Re: General Discussion
11223Wouldn't surprise me if there is more to that. Like he was told not to bother continuing this season.

Re: General Discussion
11224the story made it sound like he was scheduled to pitch 2 innings for Akron. After 1 he announced he was done.
Re: General Discussion
11225being rid of Bauer and Salazar is not a bad thing; different sorts of difficult personalites; one works like the devil in his own peculiar obnoxious way; the other seems perfectly capable of sitting on his ass all season while happily earning his salary. Trevor still has many more paydays ahead of him assuming as I do, that he will work through his current problems. Danny's pot of gold is probably finished, hope he has invested wisely but somehow I doubt it.
Re: General Discussion
11226Last year I remember posting something I saw, that the Indians shouldn’t count on Salazar because “he doesn’t want it”. For the life of me I can’t remember where I saw that. But after what Civ posted earlier if it wasn’t already painfully obvious it is now.
Re: General Discussion
11227Don't know if you guys remember Oliver Perez as a young, crazy talented starting pitcher who pretty much pissed it all away.
Got older, matured and now a useful reliever - could see that happening eventually to Salazar.

Re: General Discussion
11228I'd be surprised if he'd be willing to hang around the minors. Seems too lazy He's made enough money to live on assuming he hasn't already wasted it all.
Re: General Discussion
11229I certainly praise the team and Francona for a great season while battling many obstacles. At the same time I have felt that the team as a group was playing not for themselves but for" Cookie " Carrasco and this serious medical issue had bonded the team to a common goal to win for Cookie. I have been concerned that Cookie returning might mess up this win for Cookie attitude that was working.
No matter what happens this team has been entertaining and that is all we can ask for.

Re: General Discussion
11231If anything they were much more entertaining than last year's "better" team. We got to see many young players jump into the mix so that was a win for us and the organization.rusty2 wrote:

Re: General Discussion
11232Watching MLB Network and Peter Gammons is commenting on the firing of Dave Dombrowski.
When asked if he knew any names of people the Red Sox are interested he mentioned 3 names. Derek Falvey, Mike Hazen and Chris Antonetti. Hmmm....seems there is a connection there.
We are fans of an organization that MLB teams recognize as very well run. Not perfectly run but very well run.

Re: General Discussion
11233The Indians have called up James Karinchak.
For those that don’t follow minors, he has struck out 81% of the batters he’s faced this season.
He has a very good upper 90’s fastball that touches triple digits from time to time, and a good slow pull the shade 12-6 curve.
Great prospect, just hope he’s ready. He had an injury earlier this year that he struggled a little coming back from.

11234Ready or not...we have to know. Good callup there.

Re: General Discussion
11235Not sure what role they'll try him in; big lead or behind for a start anyway, I'd imagine. Clippers have to finish their series without him, or did they already take game 3? [no still going at it; down 1=0 in the 4th]
