Kansas City Royals owner David Glass is discussing the sale of the club to a group headed by Kansas City’s John Sherman, the vice-chairman of the Cleveland Indians, sources tell The Athletic.

so maybe they'll merge the best of the Royals into the Indians; although that doesn't amount to much new talent for us

It is official, Indians announce Carrasco will be activated Sunday, and will pitch out of the bullpen.

Salazar gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 earned runs in 2/3 of an inning last night in AA.
Definitely have some ideas of what to do with him.

might want to give him a shot in Lake County. The Captains could take advantage of his mid 80s fast ball in their final weekend.

Aaron Civale's 6 starts:36.2 IP, 1.92 ERA, 6 BB, 6 Quality Starts. Bridge from Bauer to Kluber.
Unsung hero !

Civale and Plesac have been exceedingly impressive rookie starters. Along with Bieber they make an amazing draft haul and maybe Nolan Jones will come through and the class of 2016 could be one of the best ever for anyone. Not holding my breath for No. 1 pick Will Benson to make it, too
some other possibilities from that class: Raymond Burgos LHP good talent, but missed most of the year; Skyler Arias LHP reliever made league all star team; Gavin Collins C/3b selected for Arizona Fall League; Lgoan Ice fine defensive catcher but doesn't hit.
Add in Connor Capel who was part of the package we dealt for Oscar Mercado; although it is the other part of that package that could be the major loss to the Cardinals, power OF Jhon Torres still in rookie ball.

Unfortunately it is a torn ACL for Naquin. Done for year. Bauers recalled.
Man, Naquin just can’t stay healthy. Too bad. I think he’s a good player. But can’t go into next year counting on him anymore. Gonna have to let him walk like Chisenhall when it comes time. Two 1st rounders out the door.

So, would you rather see guys like Naquin and Zimmer run into walls trying to catch balls or other guys that pull up and let balls drop to protect themselves.
Tough choice.

Well, ACL's generally take a very long time - like at least 9 months. So he will be out at the very least a pretty good portion of next season anyways.
Not surprised because it looked like it actually happened just BEFORE he hit that wall. ACL's are non contact injuries. You just make the wrong move somehow.

Bauer gives up 6 runs in 4 innings today. ERA now up to 4.53. Wow, what a meltdown!

Naquin ran into a few walls in the minors.

so as announced, Otero and Carrasco removed from the 60 day DL and promoted. That will require two others removed from the 40 man roster, although a couple could logically be placed on the 60 day including Naquin and AJ Cole and minor leaguer Juan Carlos Mejia who hasn't pitched in months.
It was obvious Eric Haase was coming up Sept 1 when the Indians signed another catcher for Columbus a couple days ago
And obvious that Ryan Flaherty was getting the call too when he disappeared from the Clippers roster.
And final move at this point is reliver James Hoty
Adding Hoyt and Flaherty will require two more roster moves to make space for them. Is there contractual reason why they couldn't DFA good old Danny Salazar?

OK; so Cole and Naquin are now on the 60 day DL. and adding up the remaining names it makes 40, Not sure where the other two spots came from.
Jefry Rodriguez has been working in the Clippers bullpen so could be added -- he is also on the 60 day DL so would require another reciprocal move.
