When this is all over it could rival the super cells of '74 that obliterated much, including Xenia OH. This has been going on for over 12 hours, and damage details are coming in slowly.
My wife is very happy tonight that our Auburn kid is doing an internship at Walt Disney World this semester and next.

Tonight my original plans were to either watch The 2012 Academy Awards nominated movie on On Demand by Woody Allen for $4.99 (Midnight in Paris), or to toss in the DVD I just learned about in a documentary last week.
Hello Frisco, Hello With John Payne from
Miracle on 34th Street, and Alice Faye who introduced the song in the movie,
You'll Never Know.
But then The Biography Channel unceremoniously tossed away the original intended airing of
"Women Behind Bars" to show documentaries about
The Monkees and
Davy Jones, back to back.
And back to back and back.
The Monkees and Davy Jones won....for tonight.....to this point in time.......
Davy Jones in auditions...."I want to be an actor, but I also want to be a jockey."
He won a race in England as a jockey after The Monkees series ended.

Thanks for the tip on this Barbra Streisand,
Hillbilly.
Maybe she'll help put anyone but Barack Obama over the top in November.

It was a warm early March day in The Bay Area today, and after I checked in with my wife who is currently out of town, I called a cab and caught the BART train to San Francisco.
I started at The Gold Dust Lounge on Powell, not far from the cable car turn table. It's at severe risk of being closed down, the wonderful venue it is, next week.
On my 3rd martini, I was openly quoting Ohio's James Thurber.
I have plans to communicate with folks tomorrow that might be inclined to keep the place open.
I then later found myself in the Tendernob bar where my good friend and gambling aficionado Lucy works as a bartender a few nights a week.
The bar traffic there was light, and the the bar tender du jour gave me much attention, which I appreciated. She was a newby. I watched her in action with other characters in the bar. When she came back to me I told her that she was not only pretty, but she was smart.
"What, I have B.A. on my forehead?" she playfully responded.
"What was you field of study," I inquired.
"Industrial engineering," I caught and then she referenced some training in hospitality management.
When I asked her how long she had been in The States and what brought her here, she answered "one year," and a goal to be a flight attendant for United Arab Emirates or Singapore Airlines.
She told me that she heard that United Arab Emirates liked to hire pretty Asian girls who speak English well.
No shortage of confidence, which I admired and admire.
I told her that was a fun goal and shared a personal story that I was once hired to be a flight attendant for National Airlines the week before they were acquired by the long defunct Eastern Airlines.
I had to give her some background. I also explained the concepts of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, and The Grateful Dead.
I then told her she needed to aim higher.
I told her she was pretty, and smart, and a marketable commodity.
I offered thoughts she should avail herself to Nevada casinos in efforts to lure Asian gamblers back to Nevada.
I then had to give her background on the concept of California "Indian Gaming."
After our second shot of Patron, she offered up her email address and phone number with nary a request from me.
My wife really needs a dog cage for me when she leaves town, I guess.
I left that bar to come home to feed our dog and give her her meds.
The dog was happy that I did.

After that "adventure," I rode home on a BART train with a bunch of folks who had been at a Korn concert, and the car reeked of skunkweed. I was offered up "a fatty" by a girl with double D's who dared me to guess her age. I playfully offered "34," while the other fatty affected guys around her threw fingers up to playfully say "higher."
I paid little attention, and just came home.

You make me feel so young!
Speaking of young, a friend sent me this very young film clip of Little Richard in a Van Johnson movie.
Hope you can see it:

Nice share, and of course thanks for the note, and yes I could see it.
Here's to hoping I can catch a few winks before much after California dawn.
I have people who depend on me.
As most all of us do.

Cali:
I actually met and chatted with a couple members of Korn. It was before they hit it big. They opened up for Danzig and Marilyn Manson at a show at the Newport in Columbus.. After they played they walked around the crowd handing out free copies of their first single, Blind, which ended up being a hit for them a little later. I still have the CD single they gave me. Me & a friend were sitting alone in a box overlooking the stage. Kinda surprised they came up there, but we got to chat with them for several minutes alone. They were very cool guys.
I wouldn't recommend one of their shows for you though. It's a sausage factory. And alot of testosterone.

Darkstar's Bela Fleck And The Flecktones will be at the same venue Korn played at last night, on the 8th.
I know very little about
Korn other than they played Indianapolis the week before I went to see Peyton Manning play in his rookie season at the RCA Dome. I worked in Indy much in those years, and ended up spending the weekend there at The Marriott Courtyard in those days just a stone's throw from the State Capitol. I realized I was going to be within an easy walk to see an NFL game, so took advantage of it.
I later regretted the decision as the dome was permeated with booming announcements of "another first down, and another $50 from
CONSECO" I though about going up to the announcer's booth and offering him $50 for every time he did NOT say that after an Indy first down.
I remember one night that week I saw a bunch of people on the street that had some kind of Goth, piercing, exposed skin and weird colored hair thing going on. I went into a comfortable bar I knew to inquire, "what's up with these guys (cleaned up version)." I was told they were all in town for the Korn concert.
"
Oh. When I come to Indiana, I prefer me some John Cougar. Or, I guess John Cougar Mellencamp."
I have never quite figured out why Jim Nabors is often the featured singer of "Back Home Again in Indiana" on Indy 500 day.

Turns out her name is Kim.
With a nod to "Sam and Dave,"
She's a Seoul Girl.
With a further nod to another folder here, maybe yes, Peyton Hillis could kick my arse.
I know my wife could get off some effective kicks and punches if she thought I was with another girl.
What keeps me in line, aside from the fact that I should be in line, is that I know as a fact there is no girl on Planet Earth who is a better match for me than my lovely wife.
I've done a lot of research on the subject.
