Engleman was good enough to rate in the BA 500, surprised he was drafted so low;
Jonathan Engelmann [31st round]
A 28th-round pick of the Twins out of high school in 2015, Engelmann should go earlier in this year's draft on the heels of an extremely productive junior season that has seen him hit .359/.442/.530 with 21 steals in 29 attempts at the end of the regular season. Engelmann is a plus runner who covers plenty of ground in center field and is adept at going back on balls. He also has an above-average arm that would fit in right field as well. Despite his productive season, there are scouts who are concerned that good velocity can beat him. But his tools package and breakout junior season should sway a team to buy in on his development.
Re: Draft Folder
1037!7th round pick Liam Jenkins had this BA report:
If the draft had been held after fall ball, the big, 6-foot-8, 240-pound Jenkins may have been a top 10 round pick. A transfer from Wabash (Ill.) JC who was drafted by the Giants in the 40th round last year, Jenkins has a fastball that's been clocked up to 96-97 mph with plenty of arm side run and he earned a spot in Louisville's weekend rotation because he showed enough control to make it work. But once the season began, Jenkins control cratered and he went from weekend starter to emergency reliever. He worked way too many deep counts and racked up way too many walks. Jenkins was 1-1, 7.07 with 19 walks and 23 strikeouts in just 14 innings. He can still sit 94-96 mph in shorter stints, but well below-average control and lack of even an average secondary offering clouds his draft status, but his arm is good enough to still intrigue. [think I may have posted this on draft day, but now he's ours]

Re: Draft Folder
1045BA projections for the International Signings which can start on July 2.
These look like some big investments planned by the Tribe:
Last year the Indians went after two offensive-minded players, outfielder George Valera and shortstop Aaron Bracho, as their top two signings. They look like they’re taking a similar approach in 2018, with two offensive-oriented shortstops their top targets. One is Gabriel Rodriguez, who was the shortstop for Venezuela’s 15U national team last summer, has a strong hitting track record and is one of the top overall prospects in the class. The other is Junior Sanquintin, a switch-hitting shortstop out of the Dominican Republic with good bat speed expected to land a bonus of a little more than $1 million.
Dominican shortstop Angel Martinez, the son of former big league catcher Sandy Martinez (currently the Nationals’ Dominican field coordinator and Dominican Summer League manager), is also linked to the Indians, as is Dominican outfielder Sterling Romero, with both players expected to sign for around $500,000. Jesus Lara, a bat-first shortstop out of Venezuela with a strong track record of hitting performance in games, is another player connected to Cleveland. They’re also expected to sign Dominican shortstop Jose Baez, the younger brother of their all-star third baseman Jose Ramirez, likely for a low six-figure deal once he turns 16 on Aug. 30.
