LVBP: Will Gabriel Arias and Yangervis Solarte be available to reinforce in the final?

These two great figures would be a great acquisition for either of the two organizations that advance to the decisive instance.

There are still two games left in the " round robin ", however, two teams have already been eliminated and some of the players who will be available in the draft are beginning to be revealed, in order to reinforce the team for the grand final.

With yesterday's game, the Navegantes del Magallanes joined the Tigres de Aragua as the two franchises that were eliminated. There are two quite interesting names that have already confirmed that they will be available for the finals.

Yangervis Solarte and Gabriel Arias:

Without a doubt, they are two very attractive pieces, who were with Magallanes precisely as reinforcements, because they are players of Tiburones de La Guaira .

In fact, one of the options that the first-place Cardinals of Lara are presumed to be looking for is an outfielder, a position that both players can cover, mainly Arias, who has already done so this season.

For his part, one of the players who has already ruled out being included among the possible additions is prospect Luis Suisbel , who leads the Round Robin with a .444 average.

[ Magallanes lost to the Eagles 8-2 and were eliminated from the finals.

Gabe Arias AB 4, R 0, H 0, W 0, K 1, OPS 761, AVE 241 ]

LVBP: Andrés Chaparro and Lorenzo Cedrola will be Lara and Margarita's reinforcements for the Grand Final

We now officially know the reinforcements that will grace the rosters of Cardenales de Lara and Bravos de Margarita for the Grand Final of the 2024/25 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. In the case of Lara, they selected infielder Andrés Chaparro ; while Margarita opted for outfielder Lorenzo Cedrola .

In this way, both teams reinforce their respective offenses and are armed to the teeth, so the Final Series of this campaign looks to be memorable and full of emotions, since both teams have sensational lineups, with proven players in our baseball.

With the first pick of the Draft, Cardenales de Lara acquired the services of major leaguer Andrés Chaparro , infielder for the Águilas del Zulia and possibly the most highly regarded player currently in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

By acquiring Chaparro, Lara acquires perhaps the best hitter of the Round Robin. In this postseason, "Chappy" hit .333/.420/.810/1.230 with the Águilas del Zulia, with 14 hits in 42 at-bats, six home runs and 12 RBIs. He was the leader in home runs and slugging, and second in OPS.

For their part, the Bravos de Margarita took home the second most valuable player of the regular season. Indeed, Lorenzo Cedrola 's performance with the Tigres de Aragua was magnificent in many facets of the game.

In the Regular Season, Cedrola was the batting champion and left huge averages of .395/.451/.557/1.008 , in addition to four home runs and 33 RBIs. In the Round Robin he started off weakly, but finished with 11 hits in his last five games, to leave a respectable line of .302/.313/.413/.726 .

[ Gabe Arias' season comes to an end after such a hot start in the league but failed to maintain the momentum ]

AND THERE WAS JUST ONE - THE LAST MAN STANDING

Official schedule announced for the first Americas Series, Nicaragua 2025

The Series of the Americas includes the champion teams from Panama, Argentina, Colombia, Curacao, Cuba and Nicaragua,

None of these teams will participate in the traditional editions of the Caribbean Series.

The event is presented as an alternative due to the non-participation of these countries in the Caribbean Series, allowing the possibility of accepting invitations to participate in the historic tournament, always in accordance with the rules of the new ABAM.

The schedule includes a Round-Robin from January 24 to 28 between the six participating teams, with three daily matches at 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., local time.

The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, which will take place on January 29 at 6:00 pm. The following day, the tournament final will be played between the winners of the semi-finals, determining the first champion of the tournament announced in September of this year.

Colombia will participate in the newly created Americas Baseball Series

The champion of the Creole baseball will represent the country in this first edition in Nicaragua, at the end of January 2025.

The Baseball Association of the Americas was founded in Panama City , a new initiative of several countries in the continent with the aim of creating a counterweight to the Caribbean Confederation and a new sporting event for the Caribbean Series.

The champion teams from Colombia, Panama, Curacao, Argentina, Cuba and Nicaragua will compete there , all of them founding members of the new initiative, and who have been participating as guests of the Caribbean Series, but without being admitted as members.

[ Dayan Frias represents the only Guardian still left standing during these winter ball proceedings ]

[It was a slim class to say the least.
If I can recall correctly, the Guardians only had 7 representatives playing in the winter games this season.
I don't remember the last time we had such a small class participating.

If the Vaqueros can win one of the next two games, they will win the Liga Profesional de Beisbol de Colombiano championship and continue on to the next phase, the Series of the Americas.

So, if the Vaqueros can win the league championship series, move on to the next stage,, the Series of the Americas, it's possible that Frias may have as many as 9 game left to play before his winter ball season concludes. ]

Note:

Colombia first participated in the Caribbean Series in 2020, and appeared in four editions of the tournament until 2023. In the 2022 Caribbean Series, Caimanes became the first Colombian team to win the championship, defeating the Dominican Republic's Gigantes del Cibao. Dayan Frias participated and had a respectable showing.
