Nate furman is a 21 year old 2b taken in the 4th round of 2022 draft.
His 22 steals are one off the league lead. [Teammate Guy Lipscomb is next with 20] Only been caught twice.
His 30 walks lead the league
His 511 on base pct leads the league [second is 487]
His 41 runs scored lead the second place guy by 18!
Only 5 of his hits are for extra bases, no homers.

but not everywhere: It Was Naylor Day all over yesterday; while Josh had his 3 run bomb for the G's, Josh hit two homers for the Clippers.

Naylor's two-homer night the wind in Clippers' sails
No. 4 Guardians prospect rips 2nd homer 452 ft. in comeback win

Triple-A Columbus was down 9-2 during the top of the sixth Saturday with Andrew Abbott, the Minors' strikeout leader, on the mound. With a 1-1 count with two on, Guardians No. 4 prospect (MLB No. 54) Bo Naylor swung at a high pitch.

And it just kept going.

“Pretty much beforehand, I just find a pitch that I can drive and do what I do best,” he said. “To put the bat on the ball.”

The home run checked off a couple of firsts for Naylor this season. Coupled with his solo shot in the first inning, this marked Naylor’s first multihome run game of the year, and the third in his career with Triple-A Columbus. His 452-footer was also the furthest he has ever hit a ball at the Triple-A level.

“We’ve been staying consistent with the work we’ve been putting in, making sure that we don’t take anything for granted,” Naylor said of the blast. “[We are] going out there ready to compete every at-bat, every pitch.”

The three-run moonshot was the momentum shift the Clippers needed as they outscored the Bats 11-2 through the final four frames.
“We’re never out of it," Naylor said. "That’s the mentality that we tried to embody at any point in the game.”

Naylor would score again during a four-run rally in the top of the ninth to win it 13-11.
Leading all Triple-A catchers in home runs (nine) and OPS (.958) this year, the Mississauga, Ont., native is one of the top offensive threats at his position.

“One of the most common things as a catcher is being able to separate the two parts of the game, between offense and defense,” Naylor said. “I’m trying to be the best player for the guy

We've had plenty of solid offensive Class A 2nd basemen over the years, I recall Cord Phelps and Scott Pratt among others, so Furman may just be another kid with a ceiling around Akron.
No disputing he can get on base and get himself into scoring position. For the five games so far this week his stats are

22 plate appearances, 9 singles, 7 walks, 8 steals, 1 strikeout. So his stat line is 600/727/600. I know it's not what slugging average meams, but I've always thought that stolen bases should logically be counted in the SLG stat since thy add to the number of "total bases" a player has created. There must be some stat with another name that reflects that since there are stats for everything. Anyway using that definition, the total base count for these 5 games is 17 and his SLG would be 1,133

The 21 year old has conquered the Carolina League. He needs a quick promotion to Lake County where some higher rated infield prospects, Tolentino and Fox, are hitting below 200

Highly notable pitching appearance for Ethan Hankins, returning after a long post-surgical recovery. He worked 2/3 of an inning last week; yesterday 2 1/3, 1 run, 1 hit 1 walk 3 strikeouts. A number draft pick he and Espino were similarly regarded when each first arrived.
He's 22. If he's recovered fully he has plenty of time to succeed.
Would be a great addition to the pitching pipeline

another nice start for Joey Cantillo although not as outstanding as last weeK

4 2/3 3 1 1 2 6 1.85 ERA

Cade Smith earned his 10th save for Akron Minor league closers don't necessarily have the stuff for the majors, sometimes relying on good offspeed pitches to confuse A hitters. Don't know much about Smith

Gavin Williams not so sharp 3 2/3 6 2 2 3 6 at least he didn't have a catcher adding to his woes like Bieber did
Herrin one shutout inning

Lavastida 2 walks
J. Rodriguez single and rbi; avg up to 251 leads the team

Tanner Burns 5 2 1 1 3 2 2.93 Ready for AAA but not necessarily going to make an impact in the majors

Tolentino single 2 walks 179
Lampe single walk 266
Frias 0-4 262

LOW A
proving again that you can't steal 1st base, the running Hillcats were shutout on a double and 4 singles. and one steal of second

Another fine start by Parker Messick 5 3 1 1 0 7 1.24 No idea why this 2022 college draftee is still in Lynchburg; was rather surprised that he started here in the first place

Their one power hitter W Antunez with the double and a walk; hitting 333 with OPS of 951
