I've been a big proponent of Allen all the way from rookie ball. But have to be honest, he has yet to hit in the majors. But he deserves another shot at some point.

Looked like a spring training lineup and pitcher last night.

This team was cutting it close as it was, but Kluber and Clevinger down and JRam a shell of himself (Lindor injury) and it's pretty bad.

If it were the typical Central that's one thing. But the Twins....they were smart. Smelled blood and made moves.

You cannot make that injury excuse for the front office. You cannot say the team is where it is due to injury and it isn’t their fault, when they are the ones that traded away a lot of our depth to begin with.

Look at the Yankees, more injuries than I ever remember one team having. Still doing well. Literally picking bums up off trash heap to fill in and still doing well.

The veterans our front office picked up all sucked.

3 problems, one front office, two not.

One man wouldn't make the entire difference but if Brantley were here they'd have a top quality middle of the lineup everyday hitter and a team leader. Others in the lineup could [not necessarily would] benefit from his presence and from not having to take up an unfair share of the load [e.g. Bauers and Naquin and Luplow hitting cleanup: could well start pressing with the enhanced expectations]
And HB is right to blame the front office for the mediocrity of the majority of our draftees.

IF Michael and Jose were both in the lineup playing at 2018 abilities, we'd have a good enough core to let young CF and RF and DH develop on the margins of the offense.

The pitching has suffered from injuries but the starting depth was made available to hold the rotation together if Bauers and Carrasco were not screwing up.
The bullpen has been surprisingly successful and the front office did that one on the cheap as often can work for the pen.

What would the true cost of not paying Brantley and $20million for this year. Factoring for deep into Oct and quite probably not making even the wild card.

Does Jose still have any options? Can we send him to Columbus to find his swing? He is also starting to make non-Jose errors.

Kluber got his cast off today and got positive results. He is in a splint now and will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.
