HIGHLIGHTS
Eli Morgan (SP, Lynchburg) - 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R/ER, 0 BB, 4 SO - Morgan continues to amaze in his first full pro season. He now owns a 2.33 ERA over 46.1 innings of work with the Lynchburg Hillcats. He's allowed only two earned runs over his past 18.0 innings of work. The Lynchburg right also snapped a string of five consecutive games in which he issued at least one free pass. The righty continues to be stingy at hits are a luxury for the opposing offenses whenever they face Morgan. He's showing a lot of promise in a league where he faces the same opposition more frequently thus requiring him to have to make adjustments faster in order to succeed at the Class-A Advanced level.
Ernie Clement (SS, Lynchburg) - 5-5, 2 R, 1 2B - Clement has been a spark plug at the top of the Hillcats' lineup ever since his promotion. His five-hit game is a new career-best in his young career. He had slowed down a little bit at Lake County but a new level of competition seems to have sparked him back up as he has been on a complete tear at the plate. He's now compiled 17 hits in just 10 games at Class-A Advanced. He's been able to hit eight of the ten games he's played with Lynchburg.
