Serious question, why is Rafael Perez being dinged with an earned run in the 8th with the current box score up?

It was his fault the runners reached 2nd and 1st, but he and Herrmann retired everyone else and no one would have scored if not for Marson's two base snap throw error allowing the runner to score from 2nd. I'd think that would be an unearned run.

Edit: Never mind, I'm looking at the box score now and Perez is not being charged with an earned run.

Time for someone on the Tribe to pull the plug on Fausto.

He's been given plenty of times to straighten himself out. This isn't some rookie out there, but a guy who has pitched successfully in the postseason.

Over his last 8 starts, in 44.2 IPs , he has given up 44 runs. Five of those starts gave the club 5 innings or less.

If there isn't anyone in the Minors better than that, then the farms must really be nothing but another Dust Bowl.

This season has playoff potential. Shapiro and company can't be concerned about fixing Carmona while keeping him in the rotation. He's a serious head case. If you were watching the game and saw the look on his face and body language after that hit off the third base bag, you knew Giambi was going to get a fat pitch.

NO MORE CARMONA!

MLB needs a replay system, something like 2 challenges per 9 innings.

So long as Romeo Crennel is not throwing the red flag, I could be OK with that option.

We're going to be in this race at least until September, and it's our best chance at the playoffs for the last few years past and I think the next five years forward.

Seize the opportunity when it's there.

It's there for our Cleveland Indians.

Gomez, McAllister and Huff are all pitching well enough to deserve a spot over Carmona. He can't be optioned out (do we care if someone claims him on waivers?); I suppose he can pitch relief in totally non pressure situations and we send Herrmann back down to Columbus. He has no business starting for a team that's trying to be competetive.

The next test of the Tribes' pennant condition will come with the results of the upcoming 9 game road trip. All vs NL clubs, thus Hafner is limited to pinch hitting. The starting pitching is going to have to be very stingy for the team to come out of the trip no worse than 5-4.

Series vs the EE and Blue Jays await on the return home.
