Been too busy to post but I did catch glimpses of the game. Should have saved about 9 of these runs for the next couple of games.

When I looked at the box score from the bottom up and noted that Carrasco came in to pitch the bottom of the 9th that was pretty good evidence of a blowout. Carlos is proving himself unable to relieve or start. And I'm not expecting him to make it through the summer with the Indians organization. His natural talent is good enough that some team with a losing record or desparate for pitching will give him a shot. It is a shame that he can't pitch because [as noted in the Draft article I posted] the Indians are very thin on power arms from top to bottom of the system.

I really don't know what his problem is Civ. I watched him pitch and he has good stuff and a fastball that tops out at 97-98 mph. His problem has to be location. He's got to keep the ball down. These hitters are getting great looks at the fastballs up in the zone. I'd wait until the off season to deal him if we have to. I'd like to keep as much depth as possible.

Well, Santana made a nice play at third on a ball that hit the bag. Strong, one-hop throw to first and Kratz gets a basehit. Swisher should have made the play for the last out of the inning. The inning is extended and the Jays have the bases loaded with a two run lead on homers by Encarnacion and Francisco. Reyes nailed one but Bourn ran it down and just saved three runs. Swisher is looking just aweful. No other way to put it. He's terrible on defense and he's worse on offense. I can't understand why Francona insists on batting him second in the lineup when he should be hitting seventh or eighth until he decides to start hitting.

The guy the Indians and every other team in the majors didn't want any part of except for the O's, just mashed his 12th homer of the year, batted in his 37th run, and is hitting (.277). I couldn't understand it then and I can't understand it now. I guess he didn't quite fit into the Indian mold.

Cruz in left and Abreu at first. Pretty good 3-4, 4-5 punch that could'a, should'a, would'a :(

Well, JR! Francona's never been in this position very often. Only one time that I'm aware of. When he has a plan, he certainly sticks to it. I hope he does some experimenting with the lineup before it's too late. I thought the Tigers would be ripe for the taking this year but it's looking like the party may be over for first place contenders in this division.

I don't think Marte ever accumulated 12 homers and 37 rbis lifetime
