11567A big help to him was the signing of Bourn, which allowed Francona to bat him last. He was not a very effective leadoff guy in Cincy.TFIR wrote:I love the addition of Stubbs to this team.
Obviously, he has holes in his hitting. But that bunt hit the other night ignited the team.
His fielding (multiple outfield positions) is fantastic, and his speed is phenomenal. Quite a useful guy.
Re: GameTime!™
11569Good point JR and it continues to point to the fact that the team talent level and depth this year has led to their success.

Re: GameTime!™
11570I am surprised at how much Stubbs has contributed. Can't hit RH but not to the extent Chisenhall can't hit lefties, and he does so much else that is beneficial, that I'm OK with a 230 average (which he is actually exceeding to this point)
Re: GameTime!™
11572That is one quick blown 5-0 lead!

Re: GameTime!™
11574Would love to see Stubbs do more bunting, like the other night. His speed is blazing.

Re: GameTime!™
11575Although he was only responsible for 80% of it, Ubaldo is perfectly capable of blowing any lead at any time regardless of how well he has been pitching before. Pretty amazing for a veteran pitcherAmazing. A five run lead gone in five batters.
Re: GameTime!™
11577Allen finishes off the inning without any more trouble. Now we start over again.
