Mariners placed OF Franklin Gutierrez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 24, with a right hamstring strain.
Gutierrez had just returned last week from the 60-day DL with leg issues. The oft-injured outfielder should be considered out indefinitely. Dustin Ackley has replaced him on the roster.

1263Brantley is an average, very average , MLB player...nothing more.
Re: Just Baseball: Major League teams OTHER THAN the Tribe
1264I suppose you could say that, given that we won nothing in 2008 and also won nothing in 2009-10-11-12, the Sabathia trade didn't matter at all either way. But I still think we got sufficient value in return, even if all we got was Brantley.
Re: Just Baseball: Major League teams OTHER THAN the Tribe
1265Speaks volumes concerning our outfield situation, doesn't it? Nothing on the horizon either. We blew free agency all to bits.Brantley is an average, very average , MLB player...nothing more.
I still like Brantley. His tools are far above average on this team.

1271By the way, it's "other than" NOT "other then". Now I see why you cut and paste.

1272Go back to cleaning toilets. I cut and paste articles. You cut and paste foreign articles and act like you discovered these players. No one here with a brain thinks you know anything about baseball.
