Re: Idle Chatter
1607Your dad is resting in peace knowing he had a fine son. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

1608Sorry you didnt make it there in time. He is comfortable & you will see him again one day.
Re: Idle Chatter
1609My deepest condolences, CALIFLA. Don't beat yourself up on this one. You did everything you could for your dad, and I know he will have a fine sendoff.
Re: Idle Chatter
1612Sorry for your loss Tribe Fan. I got caught up in the WBC moment and missed your post. Belated sympathies.

Thanks, all.
I have some amazing photos of him in bars real time during his military service days. Go figure. My wife this evening spied a few and said. "darn, he looks like he was ready for a movie shoot."
Those photos will be among others that will be adjoining his casket as I deliver the eulogy. I'll have the remnants of my long departed Irish Catholic Grandfather's rosary beads in my hand as I try to move things forward.
I have comfort in that I know I will move all forward in my family.
I'm also pretty happy that Dolan lowered concession prices, but I still tout him to rid this franchise of Mark Shapiro's worthless salary, and lower the ballpark food some more.

1616That is awesome! Unfortunately, not mine - I have license plates from TSUN.J.R. wrote:Could this be DARKSTAR's vehicle???
DRKSTR was my NTN trivia and poker handle from back in the day, though...
Re: Idle Chatter
1617I just tossed in a VHS of "Hoosiers" in after watching the evening games NCAA s with my likely future son in law.
Damn, Hoosiers has aged well.
I once had the hots for Barbara Hershey, but my wife is supreme.

Re: Idle Chatter
1618I remember there was a discussion of the Montgomery Inn and another place for BBQ. My son is having his rehearsal dinner at the Montgomery Inn. I remember Tribe Guy was one of the people talking abhout this. Who was the other person?
Re: Idle Chatter
1619My wife joined the faculty of University of The Pacific, and they made it to the NCAA Sweet 16.
My wife next joined the faculty of FGCU, and they have made it to the NCAA Sweet 16.
We sent my 3rd kid, our 1st, to the University of Florida where an NCAA National Football Championship was won in her attendance tenure.
We sent my 4th kid, our 2nd, to Auburn University where an NCAA National Football Championship was won in his attendance tenure.
In my first years of living in South Carolina, Clemson won an NCAA National Football Championship, and South Carolina's George Rogers was honored with a Heisman Trophy.
It's a pretty rabid FGCU fan base here in Naples-Fort Myers at present. I would love for FGCU to take down Michigan in a future bracket.
If FGCU by any miracle would face Ohio State, I might sit on my hands. Probably not.
Soar.....
