Ok I've calmed down now. Ugh.
First of all, yes, that excruciating loss is on the shoulders of one person only (Perez) though I am very sympathetic to rusty's point about Acta not acting (Unacta?) when CP shows he's not fully "on." Can't even blame this one on Hafner, who more often than not came through in his chances.
Second, this is another game that really reminds me that there are some important aspects of the game that I just don't get. Bottom of the last, you have a 3-run lead and two outs with nobody on base, facing batter #8 in the order. I don't care if he's hitting .400 for the season, or against this pitcher: Put your best pitch in the strike zone and make the batter hit his way onto base. If he hits it over the wall, fine, try again with the #9 batter.
Am I missing something here?
Oh and I really don't like the Detroit radio team.
Re: GameTime!™
9018Can't understand how Perez and his catcher (Marson, right?) couldn't come up with that themselves.
Re: GameTime!™
9019I watched as the Indians loaded the bases with no outs, only to score one run. Then turned it off.
Just checked in again, and it's 10-1, Twins, bottom of 2nd!

9020Good Grief!

Re: GameTime!™
9021Well it's not really that bad. 8 of the runs were unearned after a Kipnis error so think of it as 2-1. McAllister's ERA stays below 5 where his starting brethren congregate. We're going to burn out the bullpen and have to rotate some guys with AAA staff just to give us some fresh arms tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. Who among the current group have options left? Tomlin I assume does. He can work four or five innings today and then get shipped out tomorrow and Herrmann or anyone on the 40-man roster can take his place

9022I try to remember the old adage" You're never as good as you look when you're winning and you're not as bad as you look when you're losing."
This team may test my resolve.

9024Holy crap.
I sure as heck didn't expect to check in and find the score 13-1 on the first game of the homestand. Guess we've locked up double digit consecutive losses.

LOL!
In defense of Kipnis he was likely off balance after watching the back to back homers to left and right to start that inning before his throwing error....
Re: GameTime!™
9027Cabrera and Brantley getting mercy rest as they come out of the game in the 7th inning.

9028Frickin really?....I mean...REALLY?
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Re: GameTime!™
9030Our guy with an ERA of 12.46. Their guy 2.42. Now way can we win this one, right? Just the perfect setup to give our the surprise win to end the streak. Kluber does mean stopper in Dutch, doesn't it?
