It seems like we've had a lot of games over the years where our young pitchers have become unglued after an error. It happened all the time with Colon and C.C., it happened to some extent in Gomez's last game, and it's happened tonight.

This team in its current state can't afford to blow 4-run leads.

And someone tell me again why the scoring rule that "you can't assume a double play" exists? All scoring judgments that an error has occurred are about making assumptions, so why should that be different in the case of a bad relay throw on what all recognize as a tailor-made double play grounder?

Tomorrow marks Game 81, the official halfway point of the season.

With a win, we have a chance to end The 4th of July just one game out of first.

With a nod to Rainman, 27 days to the trade deadline.

Aside from the John Hart era, there haven't been many seasons we've been sitting this close to First Place as the halfway point is reached. At least in my about 50 years of active Cleveland Indians Fandom.

Above is a link to the batting averages of the 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants that I watched up close and personal. Only Buster Posey topped .300, and then just barely. The RBI's weren't among the league leaders either.

Of course those San Francisco Giants had a stellar pitching staff. But our staff has shown flashes of brilliance for each thus far in 2012.

All things are possible.

"With God all things are possible" is the official motto of The Great State of Ohio, by the way.

Happy Birthday, America.

The venerable left fielder bloops a single.

I don't get it....Duncan has been on a hot streak crushing the shit out of the ball.....Damon sure isn't there for defense....I don't know....I was all about giving Damon the benefit of the doubt...but there was too much doubt and not enough benefit for him to be on the field....

And we send Santana to the showers after 1 1/3...

life isn't so good for the next guy....Kotchman hits the tribes 2nd three run homer of the game....8 runs charged to Santana....and Hanahan gets the first strike out of the game to end the inning....

9-1 going to the bottom of the second...yes the second.
