So with Travis on 2nd and 1 out, Duncan (who only appears to hit in Arizona) and Kotchum (who doesn't appear to hit at all) leave him there.

Down 5-4, we rush Boom-Boom Wheeler to the scene and after a Beckham double and de Aza homer the score is the 2012 familiar one: 7-4.

Meanwhile in Detroit, Verlander with a really bad day. 2 hits allowed already and it's only the 9th. Only 6 strikeouts and it's taken him 88 pitches to get 24 outs. Lucky for him the Tigers have scored him 2 runs.

BTW, Jhonny tried to steal, and surprise! didnt' succeed.

If Acta had gone to Gomez in the sixth inning and just let him pitch the rest of the game, the Tribe might have won. Poor managing.

At the very least, Wheeler has done nothing at all to show that he deserves to be in a one-run game. I don't think he deserves to be employed by a major league team period, but that's another story.

But every team needs a Wheeler to take one for the team.

Tampa got to Verlander in the 9th and tied the game at 2.
