Carrasco to have Tommy John surgery

Carlos Carrasco The Cleveland Indians announced today that right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco will undergo Tommy John surgery in New York next Wednesday (9/14). He is expected to be out for 12-14 months while he rehabs from the surgery and builds himself back up to pitch again in the big leagues. He will more than likely not pitch in the big leagues in 2012. Shin-Soo Choo (oblique) said Tuesday that he hopes to be ready to return when the Indians begin a series with the Rangers on September 13.
Choo hasn't played since August 27 due to a strained left oblique. He may still be able to help some fantasy owners, but it will probably be too little too late for the Indians, who are currently 7 1/2 games behind the first-place Tigers in the American League Central.

I really don't think we are going to the playoffs this year. But if the team finishes at .500 or better, they have exceeded most people's expectations (maybe not Acta's or the team's), including mine. And that's with all the injuries. This is tough to watch at the end, but it's been a better team than most of us would have thought.

And I still say--any day that I wake up not a Yankees fan is a good day.
